This way these columns would get auto selected each time you open this report. This setting is distinct for each user.

Did you know?

In processes such as heat treatment, baking, plating etc, items of different job orders get processed in one go.

Production activity is single but job orders are many. In case we enter production data through our regular daily production mode, the machine utilisation and operator working time would go wrong.

In such cases, you have to mark this process as "Multiple Jobs Production" in the process layout. Then during production you will be able to enter multiple job orders in the same production.

Information in the report & how to use it:

  • The highest business giving customers sorted by their percent contribution. Typically top 20% customers provide 80% of the business. You can find who they are and focus on serving them better.
  • The month by month trend of business given by each customer. You can find irregularities in the trend and act accordingly. For example if there is a drop in business in the current month as compared to the trend in previous months, you can contact the customer and find out the reason. In the world of extreme competition, tough targets for buyers and low customer loyalty, this can be an early indicator of a competitor encroaching your territory.

Notification

  • AWS recently sent an email notice to all its customers notifying that the End-of-Life date for Amazon MySQL database is approaching for T2 servers.

Most of our customers are using AWS T2 servers. Hence we need to move them to T3 servers

OurSys customers need not worry about this. OurSys team will get this activity done on customers behalf without any charges under our AMC contract.

We have always helped our customers to set AWS servers and we are happy to continue doing this.

  • OurSys support will now be available on all Saturdays. Earlier support was not available on the first and third Saturday.

What's new

  • Request for Quotation feature enhanced
We have added Lead time to the comparison of supplier quotes. You can compare lead times along with the rates now.
  • Currency conversion master and auto capturing rate in Import Purchase Orders
Users sometimes did not enter the rate and the default rate of 1 went in the database ruining the reports. This is now avoided as the rate gets prefilled.
  • Material Request Note now requires Approval for Single Item MRNs
In Single Item MRNs, the item requested is not part of the Bill of Material or is an additional material request. In such cases it is advisable to have an approver to ensure there is no misuse.
  • Amendment trail added to multiple masters
We add a comment automatically mentioning what has been changed, who changed it and when. We have already added this in many masters and will do it for all masters.

Case Study

Real time Production Data Capture

Customer Introduction:
This multi-national company in the outskirts of Pune manufactures & exports aerospace components.

Problem / Goal:
The production had to be captured in real time. The IoT solution was ruled out as each make of machines needed a separate licensing and the cost of putting an external sensor based eco-system was high.

The Solution:
We created an interface that could work on tablets and mobile phones. This interface has fewer clicks such as start and stop of the machines.

Since the production schedule is available in OurSys, production data could be captured with minimal data entry.

The Result / Benefits:
Now the shopfloor data could be captured in real time and planners could see which job was running on individual machines in a single bird's eye report.

Real time production data capture helps in quicker remedial action in case the OEE drops. This results in better productivity and faster deliveries.

Now this solution has been adopted by many companies. One of them has also further enhanced it by adding barcode scanning based data entries. This further speeded up the process and made it mistake proof.
