Tip
There are processes which are not specifically covered by OurSys. In such cases, users can use 'Tasks' feature to get the work done.
For example, users can create a template for Supplier Evaluation using 'Task Template' and then adding a task with this template from the supplier master.
Task feature comes with file attachment facility and is available in all the masters and all the transactions apart from the Communications menu.
Did you know?
The 'Discussion' feature is used to create group of users who can discuss over a particular subject.
The Discussion feature is available in all the transactions and masters.
Important feature of Discussion is that though it is linked to a transaction, like a Sales Order, users in this group do not have access to the data in the transaction.
Example: Create a Discussion for Sales Order execution and add users of design, purchase, production and planning department to the group. This is a better approach than having a WhatsApp group, as it is in your ERP and also linked to the document. It is easier to trace back all the comments.

Information in the report & how to use it:

This report lists out all the Bill of material components along with their actual consumption quantity and the expected consumption as per the bill of material.

Users must look out for abnormal deviations. Click on the item to see the details of the consumption.
This report helps to check the actual consumption. It also helps to verify the Bill of Material correctness and thus the costing.

Purchase officers can check all valid quotes by clicking on the Insights icon in addition to the Rate History link which shows last 10 purchase rates.

Case Study
Outsourcing for non coded items
Customer Introduction:
This company manufactures office partitions for corporate offices.
Problem / Goal:
The product is a big assembly of multiple sub assemblies and components. Defining every component & sub assembly is not feasible as these are custom made items and too many in numbers.
But these parts go out for processing. OurSys did not allow undefined parts to go out through Outsourcing. Thus it was painstaking activity of creating those items, their Bill of Material, Process Layouts and then sending them out.
The Solution:
We developed a special Outsourcing feature using which undefined items can be sent for outsourcing without creating an item, its BOM and process layout.
The Result / Benefits:
This has saved huge amount of time and made ERP implementation easier.
This feature has proved useful to different kinds of companies. Some are using it for repairs and some for odd sub assemblies.
